Background

Is this itinerary suitable for you?

It is a regular tour to explore the most exciting attractions and scenic places of the beautiful and unique Gobi Desert, central Mongolian hilly steppes, and the southern part of the mountainous and forested northern Mongolia. This itinerary includes 1.5 to 3 hours of daily soft trekking for 5 to 6 days. Traveling in Mongolia always requires long driving through changing landscapes, scenic views, and open steppes. Even though we tried to plan the trip to have as little driving as possible. An approximate day's driving will be 3-6 hours. The longest driving day is on Day 2 -approximately 7.5-8.5 hours, including a lunch stop. Then you will be in the Gobi Desert in the evening of the first day. The itinerary includes an hour of camel riding and 1-2 hours of horse riding with the support of your guide and local equestrians. The most challenging experience could be climbing high sand dunes in the Gobi Desert, which is not mandatory. You can enjoy the sand dunes and yourself while climbing one of the lower sand hills.

Meals

Tour meals are included as indicated in the itinerary. In the countryside, ger camps serve both European and Mongolian meals. Meat is the main ingredient for meals and is served for lunch and dinner with vegetables, salads, and soups. There will be more meat in traditional Mongolian meals. A typical breakfast is tea or coffee, bread, jam, butter, eggs, and sausage. There are some cookies, cheese, cereals, pancakes, and more at some ger camps for breakfast. For lunch, meals include salads, Mongolian soups, main course (pasta, rice, vegetables, beef/mutton/chicken/fish near lakes/rivers), dessert, and tea. Ger camps serve salads, the main course, a dessert, and tea for dinner. With nomads, you will try authentic Mongolian meals. "It was a dream-come-true trip for us. We have been travelling to many countries over the past 16 years. Trip to Mongolia was delayed every single time we planed for vacation due to lack of information and communication issues. We were very happy with the inquiry and booking process with View Mongolia. All the requests and questions were promptly responded and fulfilled. We took the Discover Gobi tour plus three extra days for Khorgo Therkhiin Tsagaan National Park with nomad family stay. Great thanks to our lovely tour guide and great driver, Bulgamaa and Munkhbat. They were the main factor for our trip to be so memorable and so much fun. We felt more like one family at the end of our tour. Our kid had a great
